You linked to the initial offering of a 52-week T-Bill that was originally issued last April. It was previously reopened as 26 and 13-week bills, and it will be reopened and auctioned as a 42-day (6-week) CMB on Tuesday. CMBs cannot be auto-rolled at Fidelity.Hello,
https://www.treasurydirect.gov/instit/a ... 0413_5.pdf
CUSIP Number 912796CX5
Maturity Date April 18, 2024
I can buy this T-bill today through Fidelity.
It says the settlement day is 03/05/2024.
There are 44 days between 03/05/2024 and 04/18/2024.
Question 1> Is this a 4-week T-bill?
Question 2> Why I cannot do auto-enroll for this order?
Thank you
The Treasury has been doing weekly auctions of the 42-day CMB every week for several months, and it's set to continue through at least June 2024. If it's made permanent, perhaps later this year, then it should become available for auto-roll at Fidelity.
If you want auto-roll at Fidelity you'd want to place the order for a regular T-Bill between announcement and auction. Beware that the amount of the maturing rolled T-Bill may be subtracted from your available balance between announcement/auction and settlement, so it may interfere with other transactions in that account. If you do use auto-roll you may want to use a separate Fidelity account.
