Investing - Theory, News & General • The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses

You can make a guesstimate. Say 30-75bps on $500K. Maybe much higher if a couple solid offers like WF and CPC are available to churn through each year. Or crazy offers like WeBull or RH's very solid 3% for 5 year hold. To a certain degree, it's not a linear relationship and it's about optimizing the tiers (splitting up assets -- also wise for with SIPC).
I agree, 25-50 basis points a year with one switch a year seems reasonable. I don't roll more than once a year and prefer to give everyone a chance to prove themselves. I jumped out of Ameritrade after the merger as it seemed like a good transition point, and that will probably be it for that $250k. If E*Trade has an unprecedented bonus, I may jump in there, otherwise I could transfer some of my funds to Merrill Edge once Bank of America notifies me that I am in danger of being disqualified for Preferred Rewards. Still have not done Tradestation, WeBull, or M1 and that will probably be the last ones that I do.
