Up 105% (VTSAX) in the last 5 years, 219% in the last 10, and 659% (!!!) in the last 15. If not now, when? I am eight years retired and pretty well funded so may be more interested in hanging on to what I've got than growing the pot compared to others earlier in life's journey or less well funded.

P.S. You do realize that by being willing to get out during very high risk periods like Aug 2018, and also late 1998, I was able to hold 100% US stocks for the reminder of the time....And retire very comfortably at 46 in 2013....
I'm no longer playing the 100% stock game (but I might one day tilt hard again, or not).. For the moment just staying neutral the global market at 50-50 and trying to optimize a 30+ yr ladder.... And maybe help someone else along the way see a different perspective about markets...

It represents a methodology that tries to guess what the markets will do next.
Just like trying to formulate a benchmark, using past results, for assessing if a given yield of TIPS is worth giving up the upside potential of stocks.
