I'll give your solution a shot, although I'll be trying from a Windows laptop. Thanks!I solved the problem. You need to actually create a login/account at https://login.fidelityrewards.com/ so that Empower can sync with it. Your regular fidelity investment account just shows the data, but isn't an account that empower can login to. Once you've created the account use that as your info when you link to Fidelity Signature Rewards and you're good to go. I had better luck on my phone than Mac.
