Investing - Theory, News & General • Im 73 and confused about AA

I am a 73 year old retiree, confused about asset allocation. I have looked at the tables , and the Boglehead recommendation. But everywhere there are diffrent ideas and percentages. It gets very very confusing,
I am stuck now between a 60/40 ...50/50...or 40/60 ( 40% stocks , 60% bonds.
I can ride out a year or two of a bear market, I dont want to loose 50% of my assets , but nor do I want to earn less than 5% return.
Can anyone help? Im not looking for an exact %, but one appropriate for my age.
Lets say conservative to a moderate allocation
