Retired, withdraw as needed to pay expenses, from taxable account (not yet age 59.5).
So far, annual withdraw rate has been less than 4%.
I found your 4% comment interesting. Would your spending behavior change if when looking backwards you saw that your withdrawal rate was greater than 4%? If not, what other percentage would chance your spending?

This to me is important to the withdrawal debate over “as needed” or “fixed amount”… at what point do you curtail spending and how do you know you’ve reached it? That’s when “as needed” tips over to “fixed amount” since now you’re on an allowance.
