My system now: direct deposit into an Ally MMA (4.4% APY) and have BofA Billpay draw from Ally checking account that overdrafts in $100 increments from the MMA. I am limited to 10 debits from the MMA a month but that is a new limit and it hasn't impacted me yet.

My system in the future: Once BofA accepts Cash Plus, I will direct deposit into Vanguard Cash Plus (4.7% APY) and have BofA Billpay draw from Vanguard Cash Plus. I will keep the Ally MMA account funded with a few hundred in case I need to use an ATM (fees are covered), check, or zelle. I can overnight ACH if I need to fund the account.
This sounds super interesting. Is there any way to set up something similar using TTTXX @ Merrill as the cash storage vehicle?
No. TTTXX isn't a money market sweep. You have to manually sell.
