We were there in early April about 7 years ago and the weather was fine (60s, I think). Don't know about the crowd issue but I certainly didn't feel like it was too crowded when we were there. We did it from Florence as well and did two of the five towns that day. Well worth a visit in my opinion.I had originally considered visiting CT but seems like most people say it’s way overcrowded now and not worth visiting but I may look into it again. I don’t think the weather will be great that early in April but maybe that will help with the crowds.Cinque Terre. Easy to get to by train from Florence. Totally enjoyable and gorgeous.
