I know this is an old thread but I just notice it via searching. For eMoney, one can enter account information manually. So if you use an alias and a random gmail account, I think there is no risk.Food for thought - it's likely you gave access to your data to this company...
eMoney isn't a "generic" platform, but it's one used by financial planners for their clients. I have access to eMoney through Fidelity (although not the full tool), and through PlanVision. Both have access to my data in their respective systems.
With Fidelity, I obviously already have a relationship with them, and they have most of my accounts today - so the extra info isn't that much to them. And they use eMoney for their "Retirement Planner" tool.
With PlanVision, it's what they use to model things out, discuss where you are at, etc. I'm paying them for this service, so it's what I expect...
Personally, I'd be a little concerned sharing my data with a random company...
That said, I used to use PersonalCapital and still use Mint. But I understood those relationships going in...
