My spouse is the Trustee for her mother's estate and will soon begin executing her mother's trust. To support her proactively, I am attempting to assist her with some relative straight forward method(s) to track the expenses and distribution of the trust's assets. Rather than creating new software from scratch, I am seeking recommendations or resources for existing tools that can assist in this process. Despite searching for example spreadsheets and similar tools, I have not found anything suitable. We aim to keep the process straightforward, as the estate will be divided equally between her and her brother. It's important to ensure a comprehensive paper trail with proper documentation to avoid any potential issues during the trust administration.
