Good point. Our soil is mostly heavy clay here. One issue with some trees is girdling roots. Some more vulnerable than others. Lost one GG and I know a Zelkova is slightly girdled. Soil also affects whether food needed or not, although GGs really don't need much once established. You can kill a Red Cedar easily by feeding it.Different answers are due perhaps in part because of different soil and weather conditions. They don't like "wet feet" and thus in well drained soil they can handle more water. Was there a guarantee for one year with the sale?
