Personal Investments • What should i ask Social Security Office?...

Hi. My Wife and I have a phone meeting with the local Social Security Office today (My Wife recently turned 62, I am 64)...trying to get our heads around when my Wife should start claiming... I have read info on the site about this topic and have taken the advisc to run a opensocialsecurity...

Any recommendations on what we should ask during the phone call?

More info to provide context: My income is significantly higher. I understand that the general strategy is for the higher earner to wait until full retirement age (67 in my case) to claim, potentially delay to 70 and it MIGHT be to our advantage for my Wife to start claiming now (her FRA is also 67). i have all of the info from SS for both of us at current age/age 67/age 70.

What key questions or points should guide our discussion during the phone call?

My Wife earns slightly less than $25K per year part time employment and will likely retire in a year or two.

I will likely retire at age 65 (63 now, will turn 64 this fall).

Thank you for your help!
