Perhaps requirements have changed, or we sinned in ignorance, but when we were expats (2007-2011), we kept our Schwab US accounts. My company provided a US PO Box that we used as our mailing address. My Schwab contact knew where we were and never suggested that we needed to make a change. Perhaps it depends on the country. We were in Qatar.
