"The Player" - 1992. Streamed on the Criterion Channel.
Robert Altman directs Tim Robbins, Greta Scacchi, Fred Ward, Cynthia Stevenson, and dozens of Hollywood stars in a highly self-referential self-mocking thriller about a movie producer who kills a writer and gets away with it. Classic movie about Hollywood, and it keeps rubbing that in your face. Stars show up and ad-lib a line or two (Jack Lemmon just plinks something on a piano) over and over. Begins with an eight-minute tracking shot, as a joke, just to give film buffs something to talk about. Tim Robbins as the producer is great! Recommended.
