I think the OP meant years in the sequences, not run time. Not sure...but suspect minutes...else people would be less likely to use it. Live dangerously and give it a spin!I read the documentation page for the Flexible Retirement Planner program to learn what the 10,000 sequences it runs through means. This is what I found:
"Once you’ve successfully launched the planner and customized the inputs, click the “Run” button and watch the program run through your complete retirement life cycle 10,000 times. The simulation models both the accumulation and spending phases of your retirement plan. That means that the simulation will generate 10,000 unique sequences of randomly selected portfolio returns, which are coupled with the details of your plan including savings and spending, to track your hypothetical portfolio balance, savings, and spending through each year of your plan."
Does someone know how long these sequences are and when they start?
I apologize if the answer is on the website, but I could not find it.
Thank you.....
Doh!
Yes, I did mean years, but the answer gave me a good laugh!
And I assume since each run starts now and goes to projected age at death, then all the variables like inflation rate, rate of return and sequence risk, and other variables from the past are used??
