This might be an old thread, has anyone correlated this issue to the $25 account fee recently assessed in August?
I help manage several accounts for my elderly parents and have turned off paper statement delivery to avoid the fee.
I use my email addresss, to help consolidate all of the vanguard communications myself.
Checking my parents accounts recently I see 3 separate $25 fees and low and behold my mother sends me a text message she snapped of a Vanguard letter send by US mail indicating they’ve “attempted to notify [us] by email of the availability of material…”
I haven’t had the moment to call them yet with my parents but it seems really foolish that we had turned off paper statements and turned on e-delivery of everything….then because they think they cannot contact me via email (the letter lists my actual, correct email)….they turn delivery off and assess the fee? That sounds so ridiculous but I need to verify before getting too upset.
And the thing that seems to be really strange is there is no action needed on our end, no please confirm this or that or vote your proxy….its simply Vanguard stating they cannot contact me via email (which is 100% false as I already get their emails for all notices for all accounts.)
