Who cares how many shares you have?

And your $0.47/share stock B paid out a 6% dividend and remained at $0.47/share? Yay, free money!
What I said is that you received more, and more stable, income with stock B because the market was being irrational during a downturn. I included a real life example.
No you didn't.
That said, the economy is actually improving, even though the market is still hesitant to get going again (literally happened in Q3 2022, 20% stock price drop, 11.7% increase dividend yield YoY).
It just occurred to me, that means dividends went down by over 10%.
