^ I think you have completely misunderstood OP's question. The "tax free to me" means he wants any cap gains since he has a well of cap losses that turns it all into tax free income. Also, individual carryover loss does not carryover to estate taxes.
OP, you are the 2nd person to say they have 5m in cap loss carryover (well, the other person said mid-7 figures). They are using 2m in SGOV and selling/buying every month before ex-div to capture the monthly gain. That seemed like it would take something like 50 years to use up, and only if SGOV's yield can stay at 5%, but they seemed pretty happy with the results.
