Sorry if this has already been suggested in the thread, but with only 4k miles/year, you certainly don't need level 2 charging. Level 1 does just fine for typical daily usage of up to around 40-50 miles/day. But if you're already doing electrical work for solar etc, that's certainly a good time to add a 240V circuit.
Sometimes people mention stats that it'll take X hours to charge from empty to full, but you never charge it from empty, you charge it from however far you went in the day. So "empty to full" is only a concern if you're driving the car's full range regularly (300 miles or whatever it is), which is quite a lot of driving!

Most vehicles let you do this. Newer Leafs don't, for whatever dumb reason. They might be the only modern exception, I'm not sure.The vehicle software lets you set a charging limit.How do you manage the 90%? Do you have to constantly monitor it? Or, can you set it to stop charging at 90%?
