Just to add some balance To be fair; I only had 1 year of a HSA at a single employer.
One of my kids needs long term medications that are stupidly expensive at full sticker. My health plan was terrible for prescription costs. The employer contribution did not cover the cost of the annual prescriptions. The rest of us never used much past flu/COVIS shots but with the way family deductibles worked it did not matter. My next employer was a normal PPO plan and was - for us - significantly cheaper due to the prescriptions alone. I think HSA's are overblown here as we all love the investment component and might take the eyes off the health component.
