I sold the shares I had just purchased. Easy peasy. Now I have a 90 day free riding restriction which means I can only buy things with settled cash.I am glad this worked out, but can you explain how you resolved it? Did you sell the shares you just purchased or something else?Let us know what happens is about all you can do.No, absolutely not. You do not own those shares and you will make things much worse by doing that.Should I try to sell the shares I just bought? Or will that create more issues? I have about $100 of short term gainThe Vanguard rep was friendly and helpful. They recommended I just sell the shares and explained that the 90 day freeriding restriction is no big deal.OP, I don't think any of us can emphasize this too much.
You need to call Vanguard.
I went ahead and did that, and made $300 on the trade. (I also learned my lesson to deposit the check where I'm going to use the money)
