"The elephant" is the gold standard in small Japanese kitchen appliances, electric cookers, rice makers, and water heaters, and a mainstay in Asian family kitchens. The water is kept at constant temperature: 160, 175, 195, and 205F. You can also keep it warm passively with the vacuum insulation, but probably not for a tea drinker like OP. I do the same when it is heating a new pot (3.5L), I move it near the counter edge, and turn its rotating base, so the steam vent is pointing away from the cabinet above. I believe it's one of those brands that can be as close to BIFL as any electronic can be (if you take care of it).
