Also, what kind of fixture is this bulb in? A recessed can? A torchiere lamp pointing up? A table lamp? I've only seen PS25's in recessed cans and table lamps.
How the light comes out of the fixture, and whether it is direct or indirect, makes a lot of difference in the usability of the light. I worked in offices that had high power lamps like this that directed the light up onto the ceiling. It made nice shadow free indirect light, but it takes a lot of power (high wattage bulbs) to effectively light up a desk via indirect light. Direct light (e.g. a gooseneck lamp on your desk) is much more efficient at lighting up your work, but it can be shadowy especially if in recessed cans on the ceiling.
