Personal Consumer Issues • Pre-built Gaming PC - Current Gen Intel or AMD?

There are other brands other then what you mentioned that are just as good or maybe better. Gaming needs powerful video cards and can have lower end CPUs. Having a next tier down CPU from top of the line Intel or AMD doesn't hurt performance too much or not at all. I'm not a gamer but bought a gaming PC from a company called Cyberpowerpc that has run flawlessly, I think it's about 4 or 5 years old. My son is a gamer and he bought an open box Cyberpowerpc computer at Microcenter and it's about 2 or 3 years old and it too has run flawlessly as well. My system came with an AMD 3700X CPU and older RX580 video cared but like I said, I don't game. His came with then the newest AMD Ryzen 7 CPU and a then top tier Video card; he couldn't understand why it was an open box as it ran great from the start.

I'm not saying to only look at the brand we bought but look at other brands as well. You may be able to get a "better" computer from a different company.
