This is mostly a hobby/project for us rather than something we're doing for economic benefit. But there is a lot of space available for solar which we hope to integrate into the home and EV charging. My father owns the house and is anti-solar however...so that part will have to wait...but if he wakes up one day and sees a wallbox in the garage he'll grumble but wont rip it out. :D
Amazing to find anyone in Mediterranean Europe who is against home solar PV. The sun is there in huge amounts, it is free,* and by contrast utility rates tend to be penal (reaching the levels of higher US States, but with per capita GDP which is say half USA?).

Home batteries will be the next frontier - allowing shift in consumption into the peak, early evening hours. The savings on electricity bills will be striking.

However. Fathers. For an older generation, any change can be quite threatening. For our fathers, as it was for their parents. And for us, as it is with our kids :? :happy

* In London a small solar PV array on my roof would generates c 850 kwh pa. (1.1 peak kw capacity). Same array in Tuscany in northern Italy would generate 1500 kwhr pa, I believe. Also winter sun would be better - not great, but better than London!
