You may not need to formally file revised 8606’s with the IRS. Have you gotten any notices? No? Then probably the IRS was able to figure it out. The 1099-R and 5498 will match for the Roth conversion. So the IRS leaves it alone.
If you feel worried about it, you can prepare revised 8606 forms but keep them at home with your tax stuff. If the IRS comes knocking, you can easily provide the revised form as proof. I personally don’t think it’s necessary to file 5 or 6 years of old 8606s. Edit: as long as there are no changes to the tax.
