Investing - Theory, News & General • For a 40/60 Allocation, what would you choose ?

VG Tax-Managed Balanced fund has a nice track record. But it seems to be routinely dismissed on BH, or at least that's my recollection. (Some posters bring up inability to TLH and change AA.) For a hands off fund in a taxable account it seems like a reasonable option.
maj's proposed portfolio (with or without VTMFX) would have the added value of providing a rising-equity glidepath, which some theorists think leads to a more prosperous retirement.
Regarding the underlined part, I'm missing where the rising equity glidepath comes in.

maj's proposed portfolio (below) contains two fixed-allocation funds, so presumably the portfolio AA will also remain fixed.
If you are at or near retirement age:

70% Wellesley Income Fund (managed)
30% Balanced Index Fund (indexed)
Maybe there's another part to the proposal?
