I'm 70, divorced. I'm at 35/65 long-term; however, I recently allocated a temporary 3% to stock.I know the AA question has been asked before. But I'm asking again to focus on those who are ages 60+ and retired. If you'd like to comment on any or all the bullets below..
- What are your / spouse age(s) and what is your target stock/bond asset allocation?
- What types of instruments do you hold within your bond allocation and why? (eg. bond funds, TIPs, treasuries, MYGA, etc)
- For each type of instrument, what % does it make up of your bond allocation? (such that their total % should be 100)
My bond allocation is dominated by quality US intermediate corporate straight bonds, there are some Ts and lower quality bonds.
I'd say 90% IT Corporates, 5% Ts, and 5% lower quality.
(I have 97% of my retirement money in VWIAX and 3% (temporary) in VWUSX. I am looking into adding some alternative/additional asset classes.)
