I don't know, but the last time I wanted to visit an SSA office (two years ago?) there were extremely rigorous guidelines for getting in the front door (or getting an appointment to get in the front door) - possibly because there were in fact no people behind the front door. Obviously I never found out. but I was able to do what I need through USmail.Married filing jointly. One of us retired a long time ago, the second just retired on Nov 15.
Both just got Medicare parts B and D. We have received letters advising us of the IRMAA charges.
2022-2024 MAGI have been high; however, with both now retired,
> should we apply for reduction in IRMAA using SSA-44 forms?
> Do we both apply or only the one who just retired?
> Is this done online or a visit to local SSA office required / advised?
Thanks!
