Hi, my last surviving parent passed a month ago and now I realize I was given:
- A National Western Non-Qualified Annuity and a Qualified Annuity (the latter was issued as an Individual Retirement Annuity, according to the letter)
- An Athene Non-Qualified Annuity
- An Allianz Non-Qualified Annuity and a Qualified Annuity.
I will not move tax brackets even by taking it all out lump sum in 2025.
I don't need this money for living expenses, and can put it away for 13-15 years without thinking about it again. I'd like to max out the money for my children. Obviously it's not a huge number to begin with since I am not moving tax brackets.
After reading many posts here it seems like most would recommend lump-sum and investment in the market with index funds
Should I just take it all out lump sum or should I even consider a 1035 exchange for the Non-Qualified and an Inheritance/Beneficiary IRA for the Qualified? Is there any reason I should think about the 1035 exchange at all, given my scenario?
Thanks to all here, I have learned a lot through reading bogleheads but never had a "life event" like this to ask questions in this manner.
