Investing - Theory, News & General • Your thoughts on a roughly 30% equity allocation and why you chose this

Don't worry about back-testing with TIPS. You are given a government-backed guarantee of real returns. That is
the important point. If you can't live on a 2.5% real ROR then you should continue to work and invest in equities. The 30-40%
stocks crowd is mostly retired or near-retirement and more concerned about safety than higher returns. Overall, you expect
a lower return. That is the price of certainty. With a TIPS ladder you don't need to worry about year-to-year volatility.
Well stated. Gives me affirmation for the direction in which I want to go. High individual TIPS, low equities.
Well, if you still want to go in that direction, now is a good time to consider it. TIPS rates are back near their Oct 2023 highs,
especially on the long end (20-30yr). Might continue to go higher, but maybe not . . .
