This review https://www.bankrate.com/credit-cards/i ... r-service/ claims American Express, Discover, Capital One, Chase, and Bank of America, in that order. Apparently Bank of America dropped from 2nd place last year to 5th place this year.
I haven't had to call customer service much, but a few calls recently: Setting up a new card with Amex was smooth and easy. Removing an old phone number at Chase was not bad, and closing out an old account at Capitol One wasn't bad either.
When I get an automated phone system, I tend to alternate between cursing at it, saying "operator" over and over, and hitting 0 or other random buttons until it puts a person on the phone. Then I try to be very nice to the person. Automated systems can eat my shorts.
