What if your parent is on Medicare, Medicaid, is not US based, or dead?Doesn't mater, by law insurers must allow adult children to remain on their parents insurance until they are 26, that is a matter of statute. It doesn't matter if the kid can go get their own insurance, they are not required to by law. Also, in many instances it makes no sense for the kid to have their own insurance since it costs more than just having them on the parents plan.
Hmm, I don’t know all young people are privileged enough to have parent provided insurance til 26. My eldest is 22 and has his own insurance for 18 months now.
