Thank you for sharing this story. I went into my account and learned I could disable SMS 2FA because I have two security keys registered.
In addition, some of you may find this helpful--one of my "security keys" is actually a passkey that's stored on my iPhone and synced to my devices using iCloud, so when I'm logging in on one of those devices I can biometrically prove my identity and get into the account.
