I like to do these types of things online rather than talking over the phone. Online I can look at the screen and triple-check that I'm using the correct accounts and the correct dollar or share figures. Over the phone, they might misunderstand something, or I might misunderstand their response and the wrong thing happens. I've done Roth conversions at Vanguard and Fidelity with no problems. The hardest part was finding how to start the process! At Fidelity you simply initiate a transfer between accounts and it figures out that it's a Roth conversion and guides you through it.
