Personal Consumer Issues • EV deal breakers?

Assuming the electric service upgrade will cost $5,000.
Have you gotten quotes? I did three years ago and the quotes ranged from 7K to 10K to go from 100 amp to 150 amp service.
Building codes in my area now required an outside service disconnect, second grounding rod, higher service mast, as well as a few other changes.
No, that was just a ballpark estimate. $10k electrical upgrade would certainly be a deal breaker for me. But may ditch the electric heaters in basement, then use the sub panel for EV charging.
