Almost all my tools are electric, except my snowblower and lawn mower. Lawn mower may be electric next, however when it comes to big north east snow storms, nothing beats a solid gas unit. For reference, I have 2 driveways, 2 walkways, and a patio to clear. Snow from our deck gets shoveled on to one of the walkways.
Back in 2015 I sustained an injury from manually shoveling us out from multiple large snow storms. Another 2 foot storm was predicted so I spared no expense. I purchased a Honda HSS928A from a local shop. I spent $3,500. It cuts through deep snow with ease and makes me smile every time. I help all my neighbors too without breaking a sweat. Go with gas.
