+1One “lesson” that was also reinforced was markets will tend to rebound and all will be well in a couple/few years. That is true more often than not, but not always the case. Sometimes you can end up in long choppy and flat or downward sloping spans over many years - with eventual “the death of equities” type proclamations. I think there is a greater than zero chance that is what we may see this time around in some form.
While it's useful to consider how people react during turbulence/pullbacks, it's easy to assume that recoveries/outcomes will be similar.
The cause of the current situation is completely different from the GFC.
