Personal Investments • Roth Conversion question: Go Big?

Because of the phase in of NIIT being capped at $250k, the marginal rate declines for us from the top of the 22% bracket and we actually get another $180k of conversions (see the marginal federal tax rate chart below).

Thanks! It's from my personal tax estimating Excel spreadsheet that I've revised over the last 6 years ago. I can enter 8 inputs and be within $1 of what TurboTax tells me I owe. It's proven very useful in my retirement planning and learning about taxes, SS, IRMAA, etc.

I have modifications that uses macros to change the inputs based on a table of future account projections and another that shows marginal tax rates similar to the chart above, but then I learned about Data Tables from the Retiree Portfolio Model and a similar chart there which proved much easier and more useful than using macros.
