Yes, the premiums are deductible assuming you don't have access to an employer subsidized plan, for example through your spouse's employer.I do have a small business that is profitable. My spouse and I are both over 55. I'm considering the Bronze plan for next year. Can I deduct the ACA premiums in 2026 as a business expense and fully fund a HSA account (including catchups)? I'm attempting to see the full picture with the HSA and business expense deductions reducing overall income. I will still be over the cliff but will at least receive the deductions.
The self-employed health insurance deduction (SEHID) is limited by the net income of the business, or your Medicare wages (W2 box 5), if you are an S-Corp. You can't take SEHID for any amount that was paid by premium tax credits, but that doesn't seem to be an issue in your case.
An HSA contribution will also reduce your income.
