Investing - Theory, News & General • The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses

Someone posted a few pages ago that if you were transferring 2 different brokerage accounts into Robinhood both would need to have a margin balance on them in order to qualify for the 3%? The Robinhood chat bot is disagreeing with that:

- The 3% bonus is calculated based on the total eligible assets and margin loan transferred in, not just the number of accounts.
- Only the margin loan actually transferred in counts toward the 3% bonus threshold.
- If your combined transfer includes at least $100,000 in margin loan (from Fidelity) and you meet all other requirements, you would be eligible for the full 3% bonus on the total transferred amount.
Margin Bonus: For customers who are approved for a margin account, Robinhood will deposit an additional 1% bonus on top of their Base Bonus (“Margin Bonus”) for ACATS transfers that include a settled margin balance of at least $100,000 (“Margin Threshhold”). The Margin Bonus will only be paid for individual ACATS transactions that include a settled margin balance that equals or exceeds the Margin Threshold. This Margin Bonus will be deposited at the same time as the Base Bonus.
