Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia is pleasant, cool and uncrowded. Assuming our formerly friendly neighbors still welcome us there. Also, Montreal and Quebec City if you want something a little more urban. Travel in Canada is a bargain compared to Europe and many parts of the U.S.
