The short answer is NO. Trusts cannot BUY gifts, nor can they receive gifts. The only way to get an I-Bond into a trust is either buy it in the trust or use the Treasury Direct "Form 5511 Transfer Request" to move an existing I-Bond in your individual account to the trust.
