Amazon is a company that should have gone down with dot com, in fact it did. The stock went down and stayed down for years until 2010 or so. How did it then become a giant? Purely accidental as they built data centers and cloud services for improving their own shopping business, and then realized AWS can be monetized by hosting others. That was never a plan, just happened. Otherwise as an online shopping alone they never would have succeeded as they did. Therefore, a lot of the growth is all accidental sometimes. The current overcapacity hype will blow off and at that time US Mkt will enter long period of low to zero returns, that is what history of bubbles tell us.Jeff Bezos who lived and thrived through the dot com bubble (Amazon stock went from >$110 to around $6) said this week that we are in an industrial bubble.
The build-up of data centers is good for society and AI is real.
But a lot of companies will go bust and few will thrive.
