The $30K was not the project budget. It was only an estimate of the appliance costs.OP, I would recommend to start with what are being offered at HomeDepot or Lowe's. We ended up using local cabinetry company for more styles and their willingness to work with us on the details. It was a bit more pricey than big box stores but well worth it. Depending on how much work that you expect on the renovation (materials, appliances, flooring, labor ... , $30,000 does not buy a lot.)
For a major kitchen reno, I would only go custom. The trick is to find a good (local?) cabinet maker. The only thing I might do at HD or similar is look for some design ideas.
Built our home 30+ years ago. Stretched our budget at that time for true custom cabinets. If we reno’d kitchen today, would not change the cabinets unless absolute necessary. Plenty we would change but cabenefs are not one.
