Only a complete fool would pay more than $100 for a new DVD player if that. And these days really there's little if any diff in brand quality, although I've had my Sony for almost 20 yrs and still going strong FWIW (although I use it very little these days).Happy to pay a reasonable amount. On Amazon, saw everything from $29 to $998 so I am not sure what is a reasonable amount.
I am looking at rebuilding my DVD collection somewhat though - you can get many things cheaply and I love that you buy it once and you can watch it as much as you want forever, no additional charge. Streaming you have to keep paying every month and you own nothing. Plus there are so many things that streaming services don't have because they aren't big sellers.
