Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Wellcare Value Script Question

$
0
0
We have Wellcare Value Script as our Part D plan.
-$0 premium
-$590 deductible for '25
-Use Tier 1 drugs
-In Stage 1 (Yearly Deductible)

The monthly E.O.B. shows YTD totals for what "You Paid" and "Plan Paid" and adds them together for "Total Drug Costs".
But they then show the total drug cost amount for the out of pocket costs as the figure towards the deductible.

Aren't out of pocket costs what you pay only and should not include what the plan paid as the figure towards the deductible?
Why do they do that?
(Customer Service reps did not understand the question).
I looked at my statement. I see the same inconsistency you do. In the part of the statement that shows how close to your deductible you are, it says "out of pocket" where I believe it should say "total drug costs."
Anyone read this differently?
