Keep in mind that all of these margin rates are floating and can will change on short notice. Taking out a long term loan like this may just be a boring, low cost but very volatile ARM, but it could end up being quite exciting if policies change or, god forbid, equities crash and you get a margin call.I looked into this, to fund part of the purchase of a house. Called Vanguard. They treat any loan collateralized by one's funds/stocks, as if it were a margin loan.
