I find this interesting as I think most people with timeshares find that they are "locked in" when they get tired of paying the increasing monthly fees. One way to get out of timeshares is to just die without making anyone the beneficiary. If none of your relatives show an interest in the timeshares, the company can be notified of the death and that no-one wants the timeshares. But if someone kept paying the monthly fees, for example, that would show interest in the timeshares and the company could have the payee sign something committing them to continue the payments.OTOH with my father, we discovered five days before he died that the pour over will would do nothing for some deeded timeshare weeks he owned in Hawaii in his own name. They would be subject to full Hawaiian probate. Fortunately, that five days was enough to get them transferred to my trust and my brother's as already intended in his trust.
