Groceries (1200)
This can be cut in half. Plan your meals ahead on Sunday, Shop at Walmart/Trader Joe's, only buy stuff on your list, come up with inexpensive meals not packaged stuff: potatoes, rice, pasta, canned or dry beans, rotisserie chicken, hamburger not steak, etc. Plan a leftover night one night a week.
+1
I am about your age and my partner and I (just us) live in a HCOL area with the same household income as you, and our grocery budget was $575 before I got a teaching job where hot lunch is provided, and now the groceries are about $450/month. (I know, no such thing as a free lunch...except at certain private schools).
